The fairs are primarily intended for professionals in livestock farming and veterinarians. These trade fairs are thematically very medical and are primarily of interest to professionals; however, animal lovers can inquire about the exhibitors' featured products. The lectures offered usually deal with new scientific findings from veterinary medicine. Smaller trade fairs mainly focus on pets, while larger trade fairs focus on livestock farming and agriculture, and are addressed much more to industry. The world's most important and well-known trade fair for veterinary medicine is the International Trade Fair for Animal Health (FECAVA), which takes place once a year in various European cities. There are also a number of other veterinary trade fairs, such as Animal Vetex in Brno, Czech Republic; the European Veterinary Trade Fair (EVECC); and the World Veterinary Association Congress (WVC).
