ABOUT THE FAIR
The SICAB ("Salón Internacional del Caballo de Pura Raza Española"), the International Exhibition of Purebred Spanish Horses, is regarded as the most important trade fair of its kind worldwide and was established in 1991. This fair takes place annually at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos de Sevilla FIBES in Seville, Spain.
SICAB is organized by the Real Asociación Nacional de Criadores de Caballos de Pura Raza Española (ANCCE), the Royal National Association of Breeders of Purebred Spanish Horses. The ANCCE serves globally as the umbrella organization for the Purebred Spanish Horse (PRE) and is the only organization officially recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture to manage the studbook and ensure the purity of this venerable breed.
The focus of the fair is exclusively on purebred Spanish horses (PRE). Visitors are presented with a wide range of examples showcasing the versatility of this breed. Products and services introduced at the fair include nutrition brands, rider and horse equipment, riding facilities, textile companies, leather goods, articles related to the art of riding, carriages, as well as products for the health and care of horses.
The fair holds special significance for the city of Seville and for Spain as it is the third-largest event in Seville, attracting over 200,000 visitors annually. It promotes the sale and purchase of purebred Spanish horses, thereby strengthening the livestock sector both in Spain and internationally.
Highlights of the fair include the PRE Horse World Championship and the finals of the ANCCE Cups in various disciplines such as dressage, cowgirl, high school, driving, and show jumping. Award ceremonies are also an essential part of the event.
The exhibitors come from various industries, including horse breeding companies, manufacturers of riding and horse equipment, textile companies, and providers of health and care products for horses. The main visitors are national and international livestock breeders, equestrian sports enthusiasts, and professional visitors from the aforementioned industries.
