The Christmas market in Frankfurt am Main dates back to 1393 and is now considered the largest Christmas market in Germany due to the large number of visitors. The Bautzen Wenzelsmarkt from 1384 is considered the oldest Christmas market in Germany. Probably the most famous Christmas market is the Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt, which is visited by around two million people every year.
