ABOUT THE FAIR
The Techtextil in Frankfurt am Main serves as the leading international trade fair and a central meeting point for experts in technical textiles and nonwovens. Since its inaugural event in June 1986, it has established itself as an indispensable forum for professionals in research and development, material science, production, further processing, and recycling. Organized by Messe Frankfurt GmbH, the fair takes place biennially and attracts experts from around the world to present and discuss the latest innovations and advancements in textile technology.
The fair covers the entire value chain of the technical textiles sector—from research and development, education, and consulting, to technology and processes, as well as fibers, yarns, woven fabrics, nonwovens, coated textiles, and composites. Special attention is given to innovative products and services for various industries, including the construction and architecture sectors. The offerings are complemented by specialized areas such as Bondtec for surface and bonding techniques, along with functional apparel textiles.
A unique feature of Techtextil is the concurrent events and synergy projects. Since 2011, the Texprocess, specializing in the processing of textile and flexible materials, has been held simultaneously. This combination fosters valuable synergies and provides participants with a comprehensive overview of current technological developments and processing technologies in the textile industry.
The fair is enhanced by high-profile accompanying events like the Techtextil Symposium and the Avantex Symposium, which serve as platforms for the exchange of knowledge and ideas. Additionally, the fair honors innovations and outstanding contributions to the sector with the Techtextil and Avantex Innovation Awards, as well as through the “Textile Structures for New Building” competition, which supports young talents.
