ABOUT THE FAIR
The MATEXPO is Europe’s largest and most significant trade fair for construction equipment and machinery. Since its founding in 1946, it has regularly brought together the international industry. As a purely professional event, it is aimed at a specialized audience of engineers, contractors, architects, manufacturers, and machine operators. Held every two years at the modern Kortrijk Xpo exhibition center in Belgium, the fair is organized by Matexpo BV, providing a platform for exchange, innovation, and business opportunities.
The exhibition covers the full spectrum of construction and industrial machinery, including earthmoving equipment, road construction technology, civil engineering and material handling, transport solutions, building material production, crushing and screening systems, as well as tools, accessories, and digital services. In doing so, it reflects the entire lifecycle of a construction project – from raw material extraction to the completed build. A particular focus is placed on environmental protection, sustainability, recycling, and safety, making MATEXPO a bridge between tradition and innovation.
A key highlight of the event is the live demonstrations and testing areas, where machines and technologies can be experienced under real-life conditions. These are complemented by expert lectures, panel discussions, and competitions that culminate in awards such as the Green Award, the Innovation Award, and the Safety Award – underlining the fair’s role as a driver of innovation and benchmark for quality in the industry.
