ABOUT THE FAIR
HISWA TE WATER is the largest in-water boat show in Northern Europe and is regarded as a pioneering meeting place for boating enthusiasts, industry professionals, and families. Every August, the event at Batavia Haven in Lelystad—one of the Netherlands’ most prominent water sports venues—celebrates the diversity and innovative spirit of the maritime world. The acronym “HISWA” stands for “Hollandsche Industriele Scheepsbouw en Watersport Associatie” and highlights the Netherlands’ long-standing tradition in shipbuilding and water sports—a legacy that is reflected in every aspect of the event.
Organized by HMM Exhibitions BV, HISWA TE WATER offers an exhibition experience with a clear focus on the industry’s key future topics: sustainability, electric mobility, and product innovation. Visitors discover hundreds of new boats—from sporty day cruisers and comfortable trawlers to state-of-the-art electric yachts—as well as a wide selection of boat accessories, innovative components, technical equipment, and maritime services. Dedicated areas such as the “Groene Route” and the “Duurzaam-Varen-Area” present solutions for emission-free boating, electric propulsion, and modern battery technologies directly on the water.
Highlights of the show include numerous new boat models, world premieres, and the coveted “Boot van het Jaar” innovation awards, all of which give the exhibition its exclusive character. Exhibitors from all sectors of the maritime industry—including shipyards, suppliers, outfitters, service providers, and start-ups—ensure international diversity and make the show an important platform for networking and business contacts. The supporting program is varied: in the Fun Parc, visitors can try out E-jetsurf boards, E-foils, and Seabobs, while the “Podium aan het Water” offers live music, expert talks, podcasts, and award ceremonies, creating a festival atmosphere right at the harbor. The “Watersport Carrièredagen” career section brings together job opportunities and training pathways in the sector. The Dutch sea rescue organization KNRM rounds off the program with spectacular live demonstrations on the Markermeer and practical safety tips.
