ABOUT THE FAIR
The MTM EXPOis the leading trade fair covering the entire value chain of the metallurgy and steel industry in China. It traces its origins back to the Shanghai International Metallurgy Industry Expo, first launched in 1986, and has since grown into one of Asia’s most important industry platforms. Every year, the modern Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) becomes the central meeting point for international professionals and decision-makers from the metallurgy and steel sectors.
The organizer is the China Chamber of Commerce for Metallurgical Enterprises (CCCMC), one of the country’s most prominent business associations in the field of metallurgy. The trade fair aims to create strong links between industry, markets, and policy. As a specialized business platform with clearly defined thematic areas, MTM EXPO connects companies and experts from metallurgy, refractory technology, casting and forging, the steel pipe and metal wire industries, as well as from industrial furnace technology and the non-ferrous metals sector.
The fair has a highly focused profile, not only showcasing new developments but also covering the entire spectrum of products and solutions – from raw materials such as ores, ferroalloys, and pig iron to specialty steel, stainless steel, metal composites, industrial ceramics, wire and tube products, as well as cast parts, forging technology, industrial furnaces, heat treatment systems, and state-of-the-art testing and packaging solutions. A special emphasis is placed on future-oriented corrosion protection systems, energy efficiency technologies, and sustainable materials – topics of increasing importance for both manufacturers and industrial end users.
