Seawork is regarded as Europe's leading trade fair for commercial shipping, workboats, and maritime technologies. It offers a unique platform for innovation in a dynamically evolving industry. The name "Seawork" symbolizes the broad spectrum of maritime activities, combining nautical expertise with technical proficiency – a hallmark of this event. The exhibition is organized annually by Mercator Media Ltd., a respected specialist publisher with strong industry connections, which has continuously developed the event since its inception.
The venue is the picturesque Mayflower Park in Southampton – a historic port city on England’s south coast, deeply rooted in British maritime heritage. The location provides an authentic maritime setting and ideal conditions for an exhibition that takes place both on land and on the water.
Seawork targets professionals from all sectors of commercial maritime activity: from manufacturers and suppliers to port operators, construction companies, emergency services, and government agencies.
The focus lies on the industry’s current challenges and developments. Key topics include sustainability and decarbonization – featuring solutions such as alternative fuels and shore power – the advancing digitalization with applications of artificial intelligence and autonomous surface systems, as well as safety-related issues such as prevention and the legal responsibilities of captains. Climate change is also addressed: the FloodFighters@Seawork initiative showcases technologies for flood protection and emergency response. A highlight of the event is the European Commercial Marine Awards (ECMAs), which honor outstanding achievements and forward-thinking projects.
