ABOUT THE FAIR
The "Pet Expo" in Nuremberg, held annually in October or November, is a significant event for all animal lovers and owners. Since its inception in 2014 by AFAG Trade Fairs and Exhibitions GmbH, it has become a staple in the event calendar, drawing numerous visitors each year.
The expo is part of Bavaria's largest consumer fair, the Consumenta, and is dedicated to showcasing a comprehensive range of pet supplies. Whether for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, or reptiles – the "Pet Expo" offers everything that makes a pet owner's heart beat faster. The range extends from pet food to cages, leashes, scratching posts, toys, and even accessories and literature about pets.
A particular highlight of the expo are the daily demonstrations and expert lectures. Here, visitors can learn from specialists sharing their knowledge about proper dog handling, for example. The "HouseFriends Forum" featuring talks on topics such as feeding management and animal health is also a major attraction. Additionally, daily vet consultations provide opportunities to receive valuable tips on the care and health of furry companions.
However, the focus isn't solely on imparting knowledge; entertainment plays a pivotal role too: Daily performances, like dog demonstrations of agility or rally obedience, and insights into the work of rescue and therapy dogs showcase the diverse talents of these four-legged friends. Another must-see for cat enthusiasts is the pedigree cat exhibition. Under the patronage of the Cat Association Felidae e.V. from Bassum, various cat breeds are presented and judged by experts.
The expo takes place at the NurembergMesse venue, which impresses with its central location and excellent public transport connections – including a subway link to the main train station and airport. For visitors arriving by car, ample parking is available directly at the expo center.
