ABOUT THE FAIR
The MUTEC, officially known as the "International Trade Fair for Museum and Exhibition Technology", is a biennial event held at the exhibition halls of Leipziger Messe GmbH. Since its inception in 1995, MUTEC has established itself as a leading platform focused on showcasing and discussing the latest technologies and services developed for museums, archives, libraries, and other cultural institutions.
The fair, held each November, addresses key challenges and innovations in areas such as the preservation and protection of cultural assets, museum education and outreach, inclusion, and accessibility. Other focal points include sustainability, climate change, exhibition design, and innovative presentation techniques. Visitors have the opportunity to explore modern lighting, event technology, as well as multimedia and interactive technologies that redefine the experience of cultural heritage.
A standout feature of MUTEC is the MUTEC Forum, which offers expert lectures, panel discussions, and networking opportunities for industry professionals. One of the central topics is emergency management for museums, exploring how crises can be used as opportunities to strengthen institutions.
