ABOUT THE FAIR
Lefa, short for "Lebensmittel-Fachmesse" or "Food Trade Fair" in English, is a significant industry meeting point for the food processing sector in Switzerland. This trade fair occurs biennially in November, concurrently with the prestigious Igeho (International Gastronomy and Hospitality Exhibition) in Basel. Launched by the MCH Group AG, Lefa shines as a highlight in the Swiss trade fair calendar, representing an innovative and sustainable B2B platform tailored specifically to the needs and challenges of the food industry.
Evolving from the former Mefa (Trade Fair for the Meat Industry), Lefa expands Igeho's offerings by encompassing the upstream value chain of the food processing industry. This evolution responds to market developments demanding a representative and relevant industry platform. The focus is on shaping the sector in a forward-thinking and sustainable manner, bringing together gastronomic suppliers and professionals from related fields.
The fair targets industry professionals and decision-makers from various segments of the food industry, including meat processing, bakeries, confectioneries, cheese and dairy processing plants, beverage producers, and convenience food suppliers.
