ABOUT THE FAIR
LAND FORST JAGD Wieselburg is an annual trade and public fair and ranks among the key industry meeting points for hunting as well as agriculture and forestry in Lower Austria. It is organised by Messe Wieselburg GmbH at the modern Wieselburg Exhibition Centre, which is centrally located in the heart of Lower Austria and therefore easily accessible for both national and international exhibitors and trade visitors. The fair offers an exceptionally broad yet highly sector-specific range of topics. The focus is on current challenges, innovative approaches and forward-looking solutions – from sustainable agriculture to digitised forestry systems.
Modern technologies and future-oriented concepts such as smart farming, climate-adapted agriculture and alternative income strategies for agricultural businesses take centre stage. A particular highlight is the INNOVATION FARM, a competence centre for advanced agricultural technologies with a focus on sensor technology, drone applications, artificial intelligence and the circular economy. Complementing this, the concept of the energy-self-sufficient farm is explored in practice-oriented lectures and panel discussions. Market gardening, with its emphasis on regional production and short transport routes, also provides valuable impetus for sustainable food systems.
In the forestry sector, visitors can look forward to a comprehensive Forestry Centre featuring state-of-the-art technology, impressive live machinery demonstrations and hands-on knowledge exchange on sustainable forest management and efficient resource use. The programme “Future Forest” focuses in particular on the importance of climate-friendly technologies in the forestry industry.
Alongside its professional focus, the fair also offers a diverse range of experiences. In the interactive “Wild.Live! Mobile” area, families and children can discover native wildlife and plant life. The “Hunting” zone provides fascinating insights into modern hunting equipment, wildlife observation and game management. Film screenings in cooperation with Wildfilm Austria offer additional perspectives on animal behaviour and contemporary hunting practice.
A technical highlight is the Live Test Centre, where visitors can try out tractors, ATVs and other agricultural machinery directly on site. A major crowd-puller is the Eurojack – a spectacular timber sports competition featuring disciplines such as sawing, chopping and climbing, which attracts thousands of visitors every year.
The extensive professional programme is rounded off by a family-friendly supporting line-up: in the Children’s Experience Hall, agricultural knowledge is conveyed in a playful way, while live cookery shows – including the AMA Grill Show – showcase regional products in an enjoyable and engaging manner. Music and cabaret evenings with performers such as Petutschnig Hons provide additional entertainment.
The “LAND FORST JAGD” Wieselburg uniquely combines specialist information, practical experiences and social exchange – year after year.
