ABOUT THE FAIR
The Arts & Crafts Market in Westerstede is much more than a traditional fair. Since its inception in 2021, the event has become a highlight in the region and offers a special meeting place for creativity and craftsmanship in the heart of the Rhododendron Park Hobbie. The name stands for the unique combination of art and craft—a fusion that gives the market its distinctive character. In Germany’s largest rhododendron park, traditional craftsmanship and contemporary art come together in an inspiring setting. Until 2025, this event was organized by Sparringa Veranstaltungen. From 2026 onwards, the agency LÄUFT!Events in Bevern, a district of the municipality of Essen (Oldenburg) in the Cloppenburg district of Lower Saxony, will take over the planning and execution of this event.
At the center of the event are selected artists and artisans from across Germany, who present their works against the park’s one-of-a-kind backdrop. The range of exhibits spans from blacksmithing and ceramics to goldsmithing, glasswork, and finely crafted wooden objects. The offer is complemented by painting, textile arts such as patchwork and sewing, intricate paper cutting, as well as handmade soaps and cosmetics. Floral art and creative gift ideas also play a part in the diverse selection. Visitors can look forward to numerous unique pieces, which can be admired and purchased directly on site.
