ABOUT THE FAIR
The ITM, formerly known as ITM TEXPO EURASIA, is a significant trade fair for textile technology, held biennially in Istanbul. Organized by Tüyap Fairs and Exhibition Organization Inc., it serves as a central meeting point for professionals, buyers, and investors from Eurasia and Africa.
The textile industry plays a crucial role in Turkey's economy, particularly in employment, exports, and economic growth. A significant portion of Turkey's exports consists of textile products, which are sold worldwide, especially in European countries.
In Turkey, Istanbul is a major hub of the textile industry, home to numerous companies ranging from large manufacturers to small designers, and is a key node for international trade and logistics. Bursa has developed into a center for high-quality fabrics and textiles, particularly known for silk production. Izmir, located on the Aegean coast, benefits from its access to important ports and has a long tradition in textile and apparel manufacturing. The city is also renowned for its international textile fairs. Denizli leads in the production of home textiles, especially towels and bathrobes, exporting high-quality products globally. Gaziantep has specialized in the production of machine-made carpets and is a major exporter in this sector.
The ITM offers a comprehensive range of products and services covering the entire textile value chain. This includes machinery for cotton processing, yarn manufacturing, weaving, bleaching, textile printing, as well as knitting and stitching machines. On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 5 days of the fair, from 14. June to 18. June 2022, about 1280 exhibitors from 65 countries and 64500 visitors from 102 countries on the ITM in Istanbul. The ITM takes place biennially, and therefore for the 37th time previsibly in June 2028 in Istanbul.
