ABOUT THE FAIR
HOFEX is one of Asia’s most prominent and long-established trade fairs for food, beverages, and the hospitality industry. Since its launch in 1988, it has taken place every two years at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre—a modern venue located on Victoria Harbour, known for its impressive architecture and state-of-the-art facilities that provide an ideal setting for international exhibitions. The event is organized by Informa Markets, a global leader in trade shows and B2B events, with a portfolio of over 500 events across approximately 40 countries.
Short for “Hospitality and Food Exhibition”, HOFEX is exclusively open to trade professionals. It serves as a central platform for hoteliers, restaurateurs, specialty retailers, investors, and key decision-makers in the food and hospitality sectors. The exhibition covers a broad range of topics aligned with current industry trends. Its core focus includes premium food and beverages—such as gourmet products, baked goods, confectionery, coffee, tea, wine, and spirits—as well as kitchen technology, packaging solutions, tableware, serviceware, and innovative hospitality technologies. Sustainable and digital solutions play a key role, particularly in addressing challenges like reducing plastic and food waste, enhancing automation, and adapting to shifting guest expectations.
Looking ahead, HOFEX also supports the development of future talent in the hospitality sector. Expert forums and panel discussions present strategies for attracting and retaining Generation Z, including flexible work models and alternative career paths. Networking and knowledge-sharing are also key components of the event. The ProWine Hong Kong Wine Forum brings together international wine experts, while the Hong Kong International Culinary Classic features competitions such as the MEAT CHALLENGE, showcasing culinary excellence.
