ABOUT THE FAIR
GrindingHub is the leading international trade fair for grinding technology and superfinishing. It is much more than a meeting place for the industry: as a precisely orchestrated platform for innovation, digitalization, and quality assurance, it forms the core of modern grinding technology. Held every two years in the heart of Europe, the trade fair takes place on the state-of-the-art grounds of Messe Stuttgart.
GrindingHub is organized by the German Machine Tool Builders’ Association (VDW) in close cooperation with Messe Stuttgart and the Swiss industry association Swissmem. Together, they have created a platform with global reach and a clear technical focus on the entire value chain of grinding technology.
At the center of the exhibition are advanced grinding and tool grinding machines, innovative abrasives, and key peripheral components such as clamping systems and cooling lubricants. Digital technologies are gaining increasing relevance: solutions for implementing smart factory concepts, IoT integration, and machine connectivity based on umati standards demonstrate how resource-efficient and energy-saving grinding can be achieved today. The seamless integration of metrology and quality assurance into the grinding process is also showcased, alongside the latest software tools for process monitoring and digital analysis.
GrindingHub also addresses issues of societal importance. It promotes climate-friendly technologies, supports the development of skilled labor, and offers research institutions and universities a platform to present their projects.
As a central hub for manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers from the mechanical engineering sector, as well as from the automotive, aerospace, and medical technology industries, and tool and mold making, the trade fair attracts a highly specialized professional audience — including production managers, design engineers, manufacturing experts, and procurement specialists from around the globe.
With its strong industrial heritage, Stuttgart provides ideal conditions for the event. The exhibition center is located directly at the airport and is excellently connected to the rail and road networks.
