ABOUT THE FAIR
The Extreme Heat Countermeasures EXPO is a highly specialised trade exhibition dedicated to solutions for managing increasingly severe heat conditions. It serves as a key industry meeting point within High-Functional Material Week in Japan and is specifically aimed at trade professionals seeking practical responses to the challenges of climate change.
The event is held at the renowned Makuhari Messe, one of the country’s largest and most advanced exhibition venues. Taking place annually, the EXPO is organised by RX Japan Ltd., a leading Asian organiser known for its internationally focused, technology-driven trade fairs.
In terms of content, the EXPO covers a broad spectrum of modern heat mitigation solutions, bringing together multiple industries within a clearly structured framework. Key areas include cutting-edge cooling and air-conditioning technologies, ranging from large-scale industrial systems to portable cooling solutions. These are complemented by advanced materials such as heat-reflective coatings, insulation products and so-called “cool roof” systems. The exhibition also features occupational safety solutions designed to prevent heat stress and protect workers in extreme environments. Outdoor applications—including UV protection systems, shading solutions and evaporative cooling for public spaces and events—complete the portfolio.
A defining feature of the EXPO is its integration of digital and smart technologies. IoT-enabled sensors, AI-based early warning systems and data-driven platforms support precise and forward-looking heat management. The event also addresses urban and infrastructure-based approaches, such as reducing urban heat islands and developing climate-resilient construction methods. Energy efficiency plays a central role, as rising cooling demand must be aligned with sustainable strategies.
