ABOUT THE FAIR
The expo-50plus is an annual fair held in Zurich every November, offering a platform for prevention, quality of life, and elderly care since its inception in 2008. Hosted by apv communications GmbH, this unique event takes place at Zurich's main train station, a central transport hub that is easily accessible and assures a high visitor frequency.
Focused on the so-called Gold Generation, meaning individuals who have reached the age of fifty, the fair emphasizes topics such as health promotion, prevention, and quality of life in advanced age. These include cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels tests, COPD risk assessments, hearing tests, and many other essential preventive screenings, all performed by skilled professionals. One of the fair's highlights is the walk-through XXL colon model, presented by the Cancer League. This eight-meter-long model offers visitors an impressive illustration of the various developmental stages of colon cancer.
In addition to health topics, expo-50plus also provides information and advice on other aspects of life for those over 50, including housing and care services as well as bathroom renovation opportunities tailored to the needs of older individuals.
