ABOUT THE FAIR
Founded in 2003, BAU CHINA is the most important trade fair for building system solutions, advanced technologies, and modern materials in the Asia-Pacific region. It takes place annually, alternating between Beijing and Shanghai each autumn – a season offering ideal conditions for international exchange.
The event is organized by Messe München Shanghai Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the renowned Messe München. This combination of deep market access in China and international exhibition expertise gives BAU CHINA its distinctive character.
The trade fair focuses on key contemporary topics such as digitalization, intelligent technologies, and the use of artificial intelligence in construction. Sustainable building practices, with an emphasis on energy efficiency and low-carbon materials, are just as central as modular construction methods, serial manufacturing, urban resilience, and the revitalization of existing city districts. Special attention is given to innovative building envelopes and modern systems for façades, windows, doors, and roofs.
BAU CHINA serves as a highly specialized platform covering all areas of contemporary construction. It showcases solutions in fields such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), smart building systems, construction robotics, and building-integrated photovoltaics. The exhibition is further complemented by a wide range of materials, including glass, metal, ceramics, wood, membranes, insulation materials, and chemical construction products. In addition, services in architectural planning, property management, certification, research, and consulting are also featured. As a result, the fair highlights not only products but also processes, ideas, and holistic solutions.
Exhibitors represent all sectors of the construction industry – from manufacturers of technical building components and providers of intelligent building technologies to companies specializing in sustainable construction planning. The main visitors include architects, planners, real estate developers, general contractors, public and private sector clients, as well as experts from research institutions – all seeking future-oriented technologies, strategic partnerships, and practical solutions.
Both venues – in Beijing and Shanghai – are exceptionally well connected, with access via public transportation and international airports.
