ABOUT THE FAIR
The arts and crafts market in Leer, held annually in July, is dedicated to showcasing and celebrating handcrafted goods, transforming the historic old town – including Rathausstraße and Brunnenstraße, as well as parts of the upper pedestrian zone – into a vibrant stage for artisanal art. The charming atmosphere of these locations, enhanced by modern harbor developments and the picturesque old town, provides the perfect backdrop for this unique event.
Until 2025, this event was organized by Sparringa Veranstaltungen. From 2026 onwards, the agency LÄUFT!Events in Bevern, a district of the municipality of Essen (Oldenburg) in the Cloppenburg district of Lower Saxony, will be responsible for planning and executing this event.
A standout feature of the market is the diversity of unique items that impress both in appearance and quality. Visitors can look forward to an impressive selection of handmade products including shabby chic-style furniture, chair and rush weaving, oak sculptures, fire pits, birdhouses, and driftwood sculptures. Felt decorations and bags made from recycled materials are also part of the offering.
In addition, the market offers sewn fashion and accessories, glass and leather goods, ceramics, pottery, and innovative jewelry designs, including jewelry made from recycled tea bags. Wooden figurines, toys, turned wood crafts, floristry, and painting further expand the creative spectrum. Special mentions include recycled objects, natural soaps, decorative little houses, fur creations, and tile art.
