ABOUT THE FAIR
AchemAsia is the international exhibition and conference for chemical engineering, process engineering, and biotechnology. Since its inception in 1989, it has established itself as a key platform for scientific and technological exchange between China and the global market.
Held every three years in spring at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai—one of Asia’s largest and most advanced exhibition venues—AchemAsia is organized by DECHEMA Ausstellungs-GmbH, a subsidiary of DECHEMA Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, which has been promoting innovation and networking in the process industries for decades.
The event addresses the most pressing challenges and future topics of the process industries. Its focus lies on advancements in process technology, pharmaceutical engineering, digitalization—particularly artificial intelligence and robotics—climate-neutral production methods, hydrogen technologies, and the seamless integration of laboratory and manufacturing environments. Beyond showcasing cutting-edge innovations, the exhibition emphasizes their practical industrial application—from smart plants and automated control systems to resource-efficient production solutions. Cross-cutting issues such as sustainability, decarbonization, circular economy, and the efficient use of energy and raw materials are also addressed under the overarching theme of "Green Innovation."
Exhibitors at AchemAsia present a broad range of solutions, from plant components and process equipment to digital systems for smart manufacturing and technologies for pharmaceutical production and laboratory operations. On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 4 days of the fair, from 09. May to 12. May 2016, about 295 exhibitors and 11834 visitors on the AchemAsia in Beijing. The AchemAsia takes place every three years, and therefore for the thirteenth time previsibly in October 2028 in Shanghai.
